April 28, 2011 – Los Angeles, CA – Brian Bumbery – a public relations veteran who has represented high-profile clients across the entertainment spectrum – has launched BB Gun Press in Los Angeles. The full-service agency oversees media strategy for such multi-platinum, award-winning music artists as Augustana, Avenged Sevenfold, Green Day, Metallica, My Chemical Romance, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with independent artists Breanne Düren, Sleeper Agent, The Elected (Blake Sennett from Rilo Kiley’s solo project), UK-based painter Charming Baker. Bumbery will also bring new meaning to the “Q” in New York-based management company Q Prime.
Bumbery brings 17 years of PR experience to his new venture, including eight and a half years at Warner Bros. Records where he last held a position as Senior VP of Publicity. In that capacity, Bumbery represented many of his current artists, as well as R.E.M., The Distillers, Never Shout Never, Glassjaw, and Rachael Yamagata, among others. He also created press campaigns for The Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box set and the benefit CD Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur.
Prior to joining Warner Bros. Records, Bumbery was a partner at the independent PR company Score Press, where he spearheaded media campaigns for such artists as Dashboard Confessional, Pet Shop Boys, Mystic, Saves the Day, Bahamadia, Slum Village, and The Get Up Kids. He also represented the independent label Vagrant Records and was part of the publicity team for the documentary Standing In The Shadows of Motown, and the re-release of the concert film The Last Waltz.
Bumbery is also pleased to announce that Sam Citron has joined BB Gun Press from the Paradigm Talent Agency, where he worked in the Artists Marketing Division. While there, Citron focused on procuring celebrity endorsements, PR campaigns, appearances, and tour sponsorships for the agency’s diverse celebrity and music clientele. Prior to that, Citron was the Program Director at Emerson College’s radio station, WERS 88.9FM in Boston, the nation’s top-rated college station, where he implemented extensive social media strategies, booked all live in-studio appearances by national artists, produced three live compilations, executed numerous live events, and oversaw all marketing and PR efforts for the station. Citron began his music industry career as an intern in the publicity department at Warner Bros. Records.
