American brutal death metal masters, PATHOLOGY, make their return from the studio with a perfected encompassment of musical extremities entitled, Legacy of the Ancients. The upcoming Victory Records debut, slated for release on July 6th, was engineered by Jeff Forest (As I Lay Dying, Bleeding Through) at Doubletime Studios in the band’s home base of San Diego, CA and was mixed and mastered by Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation) at Mana Studios in Tampa, FL.  “We feel the recording came out extremely heavy and exactly how we wanted,” expresses drummer Dave Astor. “The drums are explosive, the guitars are thick and very tight, and the vocals are brutally crushing.”  The album cover displays an artistic zombie-theme, designed by Par Olofsson (Winds of Plague, Annotations Of An Autopsy, Immortal).  “The cover shows a doctor injecting people with a virus that is turning them into zombies,” states Astor. “It is a metaphor for the government control over our people.”   Fans can pre-order the new album, Legacy of the Ancients, at the following link:

PATHOLOGY is currently preparing to support their upcoming release live and in the faces of their most meaningful supporters; the fans.  With the addition of second guitarist Diego Sanchez (ex-Disgorge) and bass player Oscar Ramirez (To Violently Vomit) accompanying core members, vocalist Matti Way, guitarist Tim Tiszczenko and drummer Dave Astor, Pathology has solidified their line-up.  Fans will get their first taste of the new album with regional dates leading up to the release, and soon to be announced National tours to follow. The first of these tours will be when they join Nile on the “Those Whom The Gods Detest Tour II” alongside Ex Deo, Psycroptic, and Keep of Kalessin.  A full list of dates can be seen below.  “We are excited to be touring with a legendary band like Nile. About the band:

PATHOLOGY is no stranger to the current burgeoning underground American Death Metal movement. Their gore-soaked music and imagery has gained serious notoriety since drummer Dave Astor (founding member and original drummer for grind-spazz project THE LOCUST and militant death squad CATTLE DECAPITATION) founded the group in 2006 amidst the hot confines of San Diego, CA. PATHOLOGY combines the bowel-shaking vocals of classic American Death Metal of SUFFOCATION and MORTICIAN, mixed with the technical prowess of gore grind gods CARCASS and mosh-inducing stomp of DYING FETUS and SKINLESS. They released the Surgically Hacked demo (Amputated Vein Records) in the fall of 2006 and followed it with the brutal full-length Incisions Of Perverse Debauchery (Grindhead Records) the following year. Some relentless touring and vocalist changes did not stop this powerhouse, even as they released another full length, Age Of Onset (Comatose Records) in the summer of 2009. The PATHOLOGY name began coming up amongst the staff of Victory Records around this time and the interest in this band began to grow. It became clear that Victory needed to partner with this beast and do what they could to elevate them to the next level. On a cold wintry night in December of 2009, the label made the hellish union official and brought Pathology into the Victory family. Now the band has a new record on the threshold of completion and they are prepared to conquer everything in their path in 2010. This is not metal for the faint of heart; this is true death metal that will stop at nothing to obliterate all that stands in the way. Head this as a warning, PATHOLOGY is coming…
