This Saturday, five noteworthy Midwest bands will grace the stage at Detroit’s Corktown Tavern to celebrate the release of Gary, Indiana’s Lost Years sophomore album. Local support includes Michigan favorites The Scenery, Cities and Years, Mayor Mayor and Last Action Hero, all of which have garnered a respectable following throughout their existence.
“Play The Guitar Drunk Until Your Fingers Begin To Bleed A Bit” is Lost Years’ new full length including acoustic renditions & B-Sides, released on January 8, 2013. The January 19th headlining show at Corktown Tavern marks the official release party in the hometown of Capeside Records, who signed the band in June 2012.
Located on Michigan Avenue in the Corktown neighborhood, just blocks from where Tiger Stadium once stood, this venue welcomes all walks of life and genres of music which sets the perfect stage for this show. From indie-folk to post-hardcore, Saturday’s show has something for everyone who may stumble inside.
The 21+ show costs $6 at the door (that’s only $1.20 per band!). Saturday, January 19th, at Corktown Tavern (1716 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, MI 48216) at 8pm. The first 25 people in the door will receive a prize from Capeside Records: a clipper ship cinch sack. We’re just as curious as you are to find out exactly what that is.
