Moving Mountains is always progressing forward as a band. From their very first album Pneuma to their follow up Waves, the way the band has evolved is what should happen with every band. They’re on a roll yet again with their newest EP entitled New Light.
While it only contains four tracks New Light is special in the fact that it’s a route many bands never dare to take: acoustic. The first track “Alleviate” and third track “Where Two Bodies Lie” are from the album Waves. The second “Ode We Will Bury Ourselves” and final track “8105” are from the first album Pneuma. Listeners will be amazed with the revamped acoustic versions, with almost enough changes to make them believe they are listening to a brand new song.
The one disappointment I found was in “Ode We Will Bury Ourselves” that was cut from its original length of almost eight minutes to only four and a half. Even if this doesn’t seem like an issue, the EP is a great addition to any Moving Mountains fan’s collection.
Do you like free music too? When first released, the EP was free to download. Unfortunately, the time to get it for free has passed. The good news is you can still get this short, but sweet EP in vinyl or online for under four dollars on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and other online retailers.
